How I can find the Outlook Express *.dbx file on my machine?

Each email folder within Outlook Express there corresponds with a separate .dbx extension file. The .dbx file stores the messages entirely and with some additional overhead information. As a general rule, the file name coincides with the folder name. For example, the Inbox.dbx file corresponds to the Inbox folder.

Windows NT/2000/XP users must have rights for accessing the folder and files of Outlook Express.

If you want to manually find your DBX file, please follow the below steps:

1. Start MS Outlook Express, click Options on the Tools menu.

2. Click the Maintenance tab.

3. Click the Store folder button.

4. Press the TAB key to highlight the Store Folder path.

5. Press CTRL+C to copy the path to the clipboard.
6. Paste the copied path to Address in Windows Explorer to browse to the location of MS Outlook Express folders.
