I have just lost some important files. Are there any important things to keep in mind before attempting recovery?
Microsoft Windows can accidentally overwrite deleted files in the same data clusters. This may permanently corrupt your files and you will be unable to retrieve the data.
To prevent this , should not write/save anything to your data drive, should not run any disk utilities (e.g checkdisk and defragmenters ) and should not reboot the computer.
After completing the eData Unerase scan process, you should save the recovered files to another drive or storage media. This ensures that the recovered files do not overwrite other important data on the hard drive being searched.
Should Not save your recovered files to the same drive which you are recovering files from. Files may accidentally be overwritten and corrupted. In these circumstances there is a possibility that you could lose your files forever.
